Prana Yoga offers a warm, welcoming place to listen to your heart.
True yoga is a nurturing and healing process that uses a combination of breathing exercises, physical postures, inner focus, and meditation that guides each of us towards balance, increased awareness and insight, spiritual awakening, peace and tranquility. Through mindful meditative practice, we can all achieve greater clarity about life and the things that may be occurring in our lives in the present moment.
We don’t believe in fads. Prana yoga is a true yoga. Prana is the Sanskrit word for universal energy or "life force," analogous to the Chinese concept of "chi" or what homeopaths call "vital force." In the yogic tradition, prana is seen as pervading and animating the universe, flowing through and connecting all things, including each one of us. Yogic practices are designed to increase the flow of prana in our bodies and minds to increase awareness and mindfulness, facilitate healing, and expand consciousness. Increased pranic flow enhances mental clarity, expression of emotions, and physical vitality.
We believe in the personal touch and respectfully teach in small groups or in individual sessions. It is through this approach that we feel everyone can learn in a safe, nurturing environment, maximizing their experience as they learn about the development of a quiet mind, following the flow of life-force energy (prana), compassionate self-acceptance, and increased intuitive acuity taking in the lessons of what we learn in our daily lives.
